Q: What is the OdorSweep Process and how does it work?
A: The OdorSweep process uses special odor removing equipment to destroy airborne and surface molecules and microorganishms. Using photocatalytic oxidation along with ozone, UV radiation and vaporized hydrogen peroxide our highly effective system eradicates organic compounds of any type.[top]
Q: What chemicals are used during the OdorSweep Process?
A: The OdorSweep Process is all natural using only the power of mother nature to achieve lasting results. The OdorSweep Process does however generate a dry vapor containing hydrogen peroxide and purified trivalent oxygen. This chemical reaction is created from light, water and oxygen present in the air. The vapor quickly dissipates back into these forms after the OdorSweep machine is shutdown.[top]
Q: Does the OdorSweep Process have size limitations?
A: The OdorSweep process can treat an area as small as a car or as large as 20,000 sqft. The larger the area the longer it may take for the process to complete the required cycles. Because the air and surfaces are being treated the entire volume of air must be cycled through the machine for proper operation. The quality of OdorSweep Processs is dependent upon several factors including indoor environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity, odor or contaminant source and severity, floor plan and cubic space. [top]
Q: Are there any limitations for the operation of the OdorSweep Process when people or pets are in the room?
A: The OdorSweep Process requires people, pets and plants be removed from the treatment area. Operators must wear NIOSH approved full face respirators with NIOSH approved P100/Organic Vapor/Acid Gas cartridges during the OdorSweep Process.[top]
Q: How long can I expect the OdorSweep Process to take for treatment of an area?
A: The OdorSweep Process typically treats indoor environments within 5-12 hrs. Many factors including indoor environment conditions, odor or contaminant, floor plan and cubic air space will determine treatment times. Most vehicles can be easily treated in 1 hour. [top]
Q: Is the Odorsweep process just an ozone generator?
A: The The unit does produce both purified trivalent oxygen, called ozone, during operations but that is the only similarity to an ozone generator. The ozone generated is just one part of five decontamination steps. Additionlly the ozone created by the OdorSweep process is UV not coronal discharge ozone generation which is unreliable and produces harmful and corrosive nitrogen oxides. The OdorSweep process is 20x more powerful than most commercial ozone generators without the nitrogen oxides. [top]
Q: Does the OdorSweep Process scrub the air?
A: One OdorSweep unit operates at 250 CFM (cubic feet per minute). If needed an additional HEPA filter (0.3 micron size) can be added to the unit to trap any airborne contaminants that size or larger. The OdorSweep process will kill all airborne contaminants if allowed ample time to cycle the entire volume of air.[top]
Q: Have you ever needed more than one Treatment?
A: While one treatment is usually successful (97%) at removing all odors caused by organic materials, in the unlikely event that odors do linger our 100% guarantee assures our customers of the OdorSweep Process. If for some reason we cannot remove the odor you “DON’T PAY”! We feel that strongly about our service.[top]
Q: Does the OdorSweep Process come with a warranty?
A: The OdorSweep Process comes with a 30 day guarantee. What we do not guarantee is if the customer continues to participate in activities that cause the odor. [top]
Q: Will it remove Formaldehyde in the air?
A: Yes it will remove Formaldehyde for the air. Since Formaldehyde is a volatile organic compound the OdorSweep Process is very effective at eradicating Formaldehyde. [top]
Can you remove Curry cooking odors from a home?
A: Yes the OdorSweep treatment is the only process we are aware of that removes cooking odors from a home or restaurant. The curry oil is difficult to remove but with pre-treatment and experienced technicians we have excellent results at curry odor removal. [top]
Does the OdorSweep Process ever fail?
A: Usually when an odor returns there are factors surrounding the smell. Carpet padding, air filters and other sponge type porous material is the primary factor for odors reoccurring. Our technicians are highly trained to identify these possible odor traps so permanent odor removal will be achieved. If we are unable to remove the odor we offer a 100% guarantee.[top]
Q: We had an animal die in our home can you treat the smell?
A: Any organic smell can be treated with the OdorSweep Process. Dead animals or human waste smells can be treated. The original cause of the odor must be removed.[top]
Q: In what areas do you currently provide service?
A: Our main office is located in Garner North Carolina. The main office services central North Carolina. Areas outside of the Raleigh NC area will require a trip charge. We are expanding our territory everyday and can service most of NC. [top]
Q: Can I rent the equipment for home use?
A: The unit is sold only to approved service contractors. If regular service is requested monthly agreements are available. [top]
Q: Are there any odors after the OdorSweep Process?
A: Yes and No. The treatment process produces a residual vapor smell that gradually subsides within 4-24 hours. Many people state the area smells “CLEAN”. The absence of odor is very unusual and will create different sensations in people.[top]
Q: Is the OdorSweep Process environmentally friendly?
A: Yes. The OdorSweep Process leaves no byproducts and cleans with natures cleaning elements. Environmentally safe odor removal is now avaliable.[top]
Q: Can I re-enter my space right after the OdorSweep Process?
A: Most areas can be safely re-entered within 45 minutes to one hour. The technitian does carry sophisticated vapor monitoring equipment. This equipment registers, in fractions of parts per million, the treatment vapor to insure the area is safe for humans and pets.[top]
Q: Can cars, RVs and trucks be treated with the OdorSweep Process?
A: The OdorSweep “Mini” was created with just that in mind. The smaller OdorSweep unit fits inside any vehicle to eradicate odors and contaminants. Some of our best customers are car dealerships and rental car operators.[top]
Q: How effective is the OdorSweep Process in mold eradication?
A: The OdorSweep Process will eradicate airborne mold spores and is found to be very effective at surface eradication as well. Dead or inactive mold spores can also be captured in the units’ optional HEPA filter. [top]
Q: My animal has urinated or created unpleasant odors in my home. Can OdorSweep get rid of the smell?
A: The OdorSweep Process will eradicate most animal odors including urine and skunk odor. Pretreatment of the affected areas may be required. As stated in our slogan “We Take the Funk Out of Your Skunk”™[top]
Q: Can the OdorSweep Process be used to sanitize a home or office after a biological incident?
A: The OdorSweep Process is extremely effective at eradication of bacteria and virus.[top]
Q: My clothes and furniture smell after a smoke fire in my home. Can the OdorSweep process remove the smells from my clothes and furniture?
A: The OdorSweep process is perfect for content restoration. If your clothes or cloth furniture have lingering odors we can remove them usually in one treatment. Smoke odor removal is our specialty.[top]
Q: Does the OdorSweep Process remove fuel spill odors?
A: The OdorSweep process is very effective at removing toxic fumes associated with gasoline and diesel fuel spills. The organic compounds in fuel oils are broken down to non volitile compounds during the OdorSweep process. Any porous materials (ie concrete) will have to be treated with an enzyme to expedite the OdorSweep process breakdown.[top]
A: Ask any question relating to the OdorSweep Process and we will answer as soon as we can. The OdorSweep Process is simple yet very complicated so your questions are greatly appreciated. The questions we received we post on this page so that other potential customers and view.[top]
